Ultrafine Ni12P5 nanoparticle-embedded carbon nanospheres are used as separator modifiers for Li–S batteries. The uNi12P5/C//PP modified separator can effectively trap polysulfides by polar interaction and enhance the kinetic conversion of LiPSs.
