Modified VPO/γ-Al2O3 catalysts were prepared in situ for the first time and applied to the aldol condensation reaction of acetic acid and formaldehyde. VPO/γ-Al2O3 exhibited excellent catalytic performance at a calcination temperature of 350 °C.
