Unique tri-coordinated atoms with alternate sp2 and sp3 hybridizations are formed in the N18 ring of LaN8. The ligand effect of the introduced La atom on the N10 cage induces the structural evolution from Ī3m-N10 to Imm2-LaN10.

Treatment of trans-[Ir(H)(N)2(iPr)4(POCOP)(DMAP)][BAr4f] (2) with H2 (1 bar) under ambient conditions (298 K) results in the formation of a trans-[Ir(H)(η2-H2)(iPr)4(POCOP)(DMAP)][BAr4f] (3) complex. H-atom site exchange between the H2 and the hydride sites takes place in this complex.

A hierarchical hybrid cocatalyst is constructed by in situ anchoring Co(OH)2 nanosheet arrays on graphene. Using Eosin Y as a photosensitizer, the Co(OH)2-GR hybrid showed superior performance in photocatalytic H2 evolution.
