Abstract
We build measures of the demand for trade protection, and relate them to permanent productivity and transitory monetary shocks identified from U.S. data. The demand for trade protection is countercyclical conditional on productivity shocks and procyclical conditional on monetary shocks. A two-country dynamic stochastic general equilibrium (DSGE) model with trade in intermediate and final goods, sticky prices, and incomplete financial markets is proposed, in which tariffs are determined in a repeated noncooperative policy game. The resulting trade policies are consistent with the empirical evidence about the cyclical pattern of trade protection demand.

The present study synthesized the extant literature on electronic shopping cart abandonment (ESCA) for the last 22 years (2000–2022) using the PRISMA approach. This is one of the first studies that comprehensively synthesized the widely applied theories in the ESCA literature and the reasons for ESCA during the various stages of online shopping process (search stage, consideration stage, evaluation stage, and purchase stage). The findings suggest that Stimulus Organism Response theory, Cognitive Dissonance theory, and the Theory of Reasoned Action are the most prominent theories used in the ESCA literature. Further, customers abandon the electronic shopping cart due to several personal factors (e.g., trust, experience), website features (e.g., perceived behavioral tracking), and product attributes (e.g., perceived service quality). This study gives a snapshot of knowledge gaps in the ESCA domain and suggests future research directions from multifarious perspectives i.e., theoretical underpinnings, contexts, and customer characteristics. For marketers, it provides insights on factors affecting ESCA at each stage of the online shopping process to develop stage wise pragmatic strategies like gamification on shopping websites, improving navigational aspects on websites, removing threats to customer privacy, and creating greater transparency to increase customer trust.

Even as the great resignation unfolds, turnover among early-career employees is well documented in research. Compared to their mid- and late-career counterparts, early-career professionals are more likely to need support from supervisors and opportunities for intra-organisational growth. Similarly, early career professionals are more likely to prefer mobility and exploration of career opportunities. Therefore, mechanisms to enhance affective commitment of early-career professionals become salient. Accordingly, using a sample of 206 early-career construction professionals from India, this research examined the relationship between authentic leadership and affective commitment. Further, future prospects were tested as a mediating mechanism between these two variables. PLS-SEM was employed for analysis. Our hypotheses were supported. Specifically, it was found that authentic leadership has a positive influence on future prospects and affective commitment. Further, future prospects are positively associated with affective commitment. Finally, future prospects fully mediate the relationship between authentic leadership and affective commitment. Implications for research and practice are discussed, and limitations are acknowledged.
